The first thing most people ask us, after making happy sounds of having found “my beanbag”, is about our name. Nua Tua is an unusual name. It’s the coming together of two things. Nua and Tua. Much like the coming together of you and your beanbag. Nua means new in Irish and Tua means old in Malay. Beanbags are an old idea. But they have taken a new life with newer designs and materials to suit today’s lifestyle.

Nua Tua was started because as beanbag lovers we couldn’t find good quality beanbags. So we decided to make our own beanbags. Soon friends wanted our beanbags, then their friends wanted our beanbags. That’s when we realized we have to do something for all the beanbag lovers out there.

Today we’re the only custom-made beanbags that are physically made in Canada. Others might claim to be Canadian, but are usually outsourced.

Nua Tua is the best seat in the house – or office. We find that people also love to work on beanbags! A well-made beanbag moulds itself around you and supports your back and neck, so whatever you do, you’ll be comfortable doing it in a beanbag.
